ESTONIA
NOA Restaurant
Overlooking the silhouette of the Medieval Tallinn and located on the picturesque coast of the Baltic Sea, the NOA’s architecture had two major challenges. These were given on one hand by the complex and restricted structure of the chosen plot (ground) and on the other hand by the absolute openness to Nordic climate: the sea, winds and changing temperature.
The wood, in addition to give natural accent and support the contemporary architecture, had to play an important role in durability and resistance to the Nordic climates´ playground located by the seafront.
Thermally modified wood was chosen for NOA as an excellent material where the resistance and durability are united with the beautiful and natural structure of true wood. The thermally modified wood facade joins the visual contrast to one coherent whole. Thermory was chosen for the high quality and also the openness to new projects and profiles.
